How To Paint Stripes on a Wall Using Laser Levels

A laser level is a valuable, multi-purpose tool which helps to both maximize efficiency and increase accuracy. No matter whether you’re a professional tradesman or newbie DIYer, a laser level will make an excellent addition to your tool kit.

One of the best ways to use a laser level tool is to create perfect stripes on any surface. Stripes can help to jazz-up a room, and also create a nice focal point without the need to spend a lot of money on remodelling. Read on for a step-by-step guide on ow to create beautiful stripes on your wall wth a laser level.

You Will Need

  • Paint
  • Paint brush or roller
  • Paper towel
  • Laser level tape
  • Pencil
  • Tape measure
  • Ladder (for high spots)

Step 1: Properly Plan

To make things easier for yourself, it’s a wise idea to start by gathering all of the materials that you will need for the task. You’ll also want to think about the types of stripes that you want to create in your room. Horizontal stripes can help to make a room look wider, wile vertical ones will make it feel taller.

Step 2: Prepare the Space

Now it’s time to properly prep your space. You’ll want to protect any floor space by laying down a special covering such as a plastic sheet. You can protect light switches with painted tape. Remove nails and pantings from the wall. If there is grout on the wall, then you can use grout remover tool to get rid of it.

If your wall is looking a little tired or worn, then you can give it a new lease of life with a coat or two of fresh paint before you begin.

Step 3: Measuring

After the prep work, you are ready to start measuring your stripes. Use the laser measuring tape to mark the edge of the stripes on your wall. Then set-up your tripod and mount the laser level onto it. Point the laser so that it aligns perfect with your stripe mark and shines along the wall. Use your tape to mark along this line. Make sure that you properly press it flat to prevent any air bubbles. Repeat for the entire area that you want to paint.

Step 4: Painting

Now you are ready to start panting your wall. Vivid colours are particularlyy popular now and will help to brighten up any room. If you want something a little more muted then try earth tones or even pastel colors. Use a paint brush if you’re painting a small area, or you can use a paint roller if it’s a larger space. Remember to remove the tape as soon as you finish painting as this will help to prevent the paint from bleeding. Allow the paint to dry properly before hanging any paintings back on the wall.

Check out a best laser level review for some tips on how to pick the best laser level for your needs. Follow the above tips and you will be sure to create beautiful straight stripes on any wall in no time. Good luck.

My Thanks to You! and Now He Works for Me

Eleven years ago, Steve, I and the two youngest boys were on a camping vacation in Ontario. One night while lying in our tent (no not all of our vacations are luxury) listening to the Bruce Williams radio talk show, we heard a call that really struck a cord. As a result Steve and I were inspired to start our own travel business. The Only Way to Travel, Inc. was incorporated and officially became a business. Even though I didn’t envision the business failing, I never would have imagined us being as successful as we are today!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support over these past ten years. We would not be where we are today without you, our very loyal clients. Not only do you come back to us time and again, but you continue to refer others to us. It is your referrals that have made up the majority of our growth. That, in and of itself, is rewarding. We know if you weren’t satisfied you wouldn’t refer others to us for their travel needs.

In particular I would like to mention Rod Melson , our very first client. Rod took a chance on us and has stuck with us over the life of our business. He’s provided us with some constructive criticism when we’ve hit a few rough spots in the road during these years of rapid growth, but has always remained loyal to us. Rod, please allow me this opportunity to publicly thank you for your continued support and business. Although we value all of our clients, you are the most valued since you were our very first. I look forward to many more years of growth and success in our business. Our number one goal for the future is to continue to attend the travel needs of all of valued clients.

As Paul Harvey would say, “Now the rest of the story…” Recently Rod retired from his electrical contractors position and came to work for me. Rod brings a wealth of knowledge about cruising and general traveling. All of us in the office say Welcome Rod.

If you have an interest in working the world of travel check out “selling travel”, then send me an email and let’s talk

To the rest of our client we also want thank you for your business. We hope the time and energy we put into helping you plan your vacation resulted in a great time. We at Only Way to Travel, feel that service and knowledge are the only two things we can offer, that set us apart from all the other travel providers. Yes we believe in the internet, that’s obvious, BUT we know from working with people who have used the internet without the help of a travel agent, that when plans go wrong, the internet offers no personal interface. That’s why we believe that any and all internet transactions must have 24 hour support that all clients deserve. If you feel the same and would like to work with us just drop me a line. We are always looking for people who have the same work ethic.

Use mail (travel[at] if you’d like to talk about travel or want to work with us in developing a travel package for you or your group. It’s how we do business. We believe in personal service.

We also conduct classes for travel agents and small businesses who want to use the internet to improve their business by increasing their sales We have tailored this class for all small businesses and are willing to make presentations to other groups.

Start Your Own Travel Agency

You’ve seen all the ads on the web sites and in the back of the well known magazines “Start your own Travel Agency”.

Yes it can be done, because we did it.

HOWEVER there is more to it than paying a lot of money for a franchise and waiting for all those customers to come running to your front door.

The ads read “Start your travel agency in your home, part time, and grow it into a successful business.”

They claim:

  • No experience necessary.
  • Book cruises right from your home.
  • Travel free!
  • Get all the tax benefits of owning your own business.
  • No computer required.
  • Travel agent ID card provided.
  • Start you business at practically no cost.
  • For only $499.00 you can be a travel agent!
  • BUT does this really work? ABSOLUTELY NOT

Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably is!

Here’s what it really takes:

  • An Investment of your time
  • Getting a computer and learning how to use it
  • A willingness:
    • To Travel
    • Attend classes
    • Do research
    • Join associations supporting travel
    • Spend YOUR money to grow YOUR business<
    • /ul>

Cruise lines, tours companies and airlines will not deal with firms who have not established a record with them. Therefore you must start with someone else, often referred to as a host agency. You can work with any agency willing to work with independent contractors. We welcome people who want to work hard and become successful independent contractors.

Independent contractors do take up an agency’s time and that’s why we, as do other host agencies retain a portion of any earned commission. In return, we process travel documents, and assist you with your questions and other travel. In fact we even have a staff member dedicated to assisting our independent contractors.

To be an independent contractor and work with us, or any other agency, you must form your own company. Every state has and municipality has different requirements for starting and operating a business. Federal requirements differ depending on whether you form an S Corp, LLC, partnership or sole proprietorship. Check with your local and state authorities to make sure you are complying with the rules of operating as a travel agent. You will also need to purchase professional liability insurance (also called errors and omissions insurance).

As an independent contractor you are free to work with as many host agencies as you feel you need. If a host agency requires you to work exclusively with that agency, the line between independent contractor and employee becomes blurred. It is to your benefit to have your attorney review any contract between yourself and a host agency.

To sell any travel products you need to try them and judge their value and quality. You will also have to go to trade shows that offer tours of cruise ships. At trade shows you will have the opportunity to learn more about the various suppliers of travel and actually meet and talk to their representatives. The more you deal with suppliers and sell their products, the more help they will give you in the form of training and familiarization trips. These trade shows and trips do cost money and require your time commitment.

Obviously you can’t know everything about every place, so pick an area within travel that you like and start there. It is better to focus on one type of travel and know it well. Take specialist training classes; many are offered free of charge by tourist bureaus and suppliers. You will sell much more in the long run.

So, are you prepared to invest your time and money?

We also recommend that you use the Internet to drive sales to your site and help increase your profits. We are so sure the Internet can help you, we wrote two books on how to do it. It’s not that difficult or expensive, IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF.

In Summary: Work with an agency which will help you learn the business, before you go it on your own.

If you would like to work with us, email us at travel[at] to discuss working as an independent contractor.

This could be your opportunity to get started in the travel business.

Discovery Cove, the ultimate tropical paradise

Discovery Cove is the ultimate tropical paradise where you do it all – all in one place.

Swimming with dolphins is the centerpiece of a daylong adventure at Discovery Cove, located adjacent to SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. Interacting one-on-one with a bottlenose dolphin is just one of the several experiences in this exotic tropical oasis that will stay with you for a lifetime.

At Discovery Cove you will snorkel through colorful reefs teeming with thousands of tropical fish, explore underwater shipwrecks and mysterious grottos, and lazily swim down a tropical river with rocky waterfalls and a freshwater lagoon. Snorkelers glide among stingrays – surprisingly gentle creatures that don’t really sting at all, but do grow up to 4 feet in diameter – and stare down dangerous sharks and barracuda – as you safely swim within inches.

Swimming under a picturesque waterfall, you emerge from the pristine waters in a huge aviary towering over both water and land. Here you can play with more than 300 tropical birds.

Looking for the adventure of a lifetime? Want to feel the playful nudge of a dolphin? Discovery Cove is the ultimate paradise you can call your own. Swim with dolphins, rays and thousands of tropical fish. No barriers. No crowds. No place like it.

Your Discovery Cove adventure will include:

  • Discovery Cove admission

  • A sumptuous meal
  • Use of a mask, snorkel, swim vest, towel, locker and other amenities
  • All-day self parking
  • Seven day pass to SeaWorld Orlando

Amelia Island Plantation

Golf, nature, beaches, swimming, hiking, kayaking, tennis, bicycling, and of course the wonderfully fun Segway tours provide you with plenty to do at this quite respite, just 29 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida. And if that’s not enough there’s an incredible spa and did I mention shopping? If you’re looking for a great family vacation without leaving the United States, this may be just the location for you.

Lodging options abound. There is the standard hotel option, or perhaps you prefer a villa rental? The hotel rooms (each with a balcony) offer great views of the Atlantic Ocean with comfortable, pleasantly decorated rooms. Each villa is privately owned, so the decor varies from one unit to the next. Some of the villas are located around the three golf courses, so you have a view of the beautifully landscaped course. For those of you who want to be close to the courts, you can rent a villa that skirts the Racquet Park. Of course many of the villas are located beach front and offer grand vistas of the ocean.

Activities abound for families of all ages. In fact, this would be the perfect location for that multigenerational vacation you have been thinking about. Conde Naste’ Traveler called Amelia Island Plantation “One of the best places to stay in the whole world”. There is literally something for everyone at Amelia Island Plantation.

Getting around the Plantation is a cinch. Convenient trams are always available to take you from one place to another. Or, if you prefer, you can rent a golf cart and drive yourself! Amelia Island Plantation home of the Bausch and Lomb Championships, is known for world class tennis. The tennis center boasts 23 Har Tru courts and an expanded pro shop. I can’t think of a better place to work on your backhand! For those who prefer hitting a smaller ball, Amelia’s links offer 54 holes on its three courses designed by such greats as Pete Dye, Tom Fazio and Bobby Weed.

The Nature Center offers programs for kids and adults alike. My favorite was the Nature Tour by Segway. It was so much fun! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of things we would have otherwise not noticed. Kids Camp Amelia allows Mom and Dad plenty of time to enjoy the facilities of the Plantation without the kids for a while. And there are so many things to do together as family. For the 4th of July there’s even an airshow!

Oh my! I completely forgot about food. There are numerous dining options for every taste and desire. Looking for a fun and casual place to take the family for dinner? Try the Falcon’s Nest. A romantic dinner by the sea? Amelia Inn Dining Room will meet your needs. Incredibly fresh local seafood? The Verandah restaurant comes to mind.
